During industrial processes different kinds of vapours are frequently generated. These vapours – called 'fumes'or "smoke" – could be harmful to human beings and animals. The skin and the lungs could be damaged. They could also corrode metallic objects in the vicinity. That is why all well-run factories, where safety is given its due importance, have installed systems to remove and dispose off harmful fumes.
